Cultures and Traditions
Not only does Tourism create jobs and generate income in rural areas throughout the country, it also plays a part in disseminating the country’s reputation to the world. Tourism industry consists of many factors. The most important ones include the plentiful tourism resources which can be found throughout Thailand. Tourism resources can be divided into 3 main categories:
1. Natural resources e.g. forests, mountains, waterfalls, beaches, seas, and islands;
2. Manmade resources e.g. religious places, archaeological sites, antiques, and other constructions. Although the construction purposes, age, and architectural styles are varied, they become valuable tourism resources of the country;
3. Art and cultures e.g. local activities, traditions, and ways of living
It is evident that apart from the first category, the natural resources, the other two factors are based on cultures and traditions.
